Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — many STIs can be safely assessed, tested, and treated via telehealth. Our doctors follow Australian telehealth standards and Australian STI management and guidelines, using a detailed clinical history to determine appropriate testing and treatment. Telehealth is used only when it is clinically safe and appropriate, with in-person review arranged if required.

After your telehealth consultation, your doctor may arrange pathology testing (urine tests, blood tests, or self-collected swabs) in line with Australian STI management guidelines.

These tests can be completed at approved pathology centres, and results are reviewed confidentially by your doctor. You’ll be contacted promptly with results and next steps.

In many cases, yes. Evidence-based treatment, education, and follow-up can often be provided via telehealth, including prescriptions sent electronically. Your doctor will also provide patient education on:

  • Understanding your diagnosis
  • Preventing transmission
  • Partner notification (where appropriate)
  • When follow-up testing is needed

If symptoms are severe, unusual, or require examination, you’ll be guided to face-to-face care.
